Our mission is to provide a network for and foster collaboration between Boston-area children’s theaters, to enhance access to resources and audiences, to share ideas and to build upon and ensure one another’s success, and to broaden the rewarding, long-lasting effects of children’s theatre on both the public & the participants.

Building a Responsive Community Children's Theatre

Tara Brooke Watkins is a very busy woman. Between running her own theater (she is the founder of the South Shore School of Theatre), she is also a Theater Producer and Instructor at Eastern Nazarene College, where she is teaching two classes and directing two shows. At the same time, she is also getting her master's in Theater Education from Emerson College. Nevertheless, last summer, when she was approached by parents after the CBACT Festival (which SSST hosted) to do year-round programming at her young theater company...(to read more, click here)

CBACT's Peer Critique Program: Re-ACT

In order to meet the needs of our member theaters, CBACT has developed a program to allow for constructive feedback and dialogue between children's theater professionals and CBACT theatres. This program is free for CBACT Member Theatres ($25 for non-members). To learn more, click here.

4th Annual CBACT Children's Festival
a fabulous success!

This year's festival was hosted by South Shore School of Theatre on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday, July 9th, 2011 in Quincy, MA, and included performances and workshops by ten CBACT Theatres.
