I would really love to explore the islands of Guernsey and Jersey because these are islands that have so much beauty and heritage yet rarely get the media coverage they deserve this is probably a good thing for local communities. There is, however, a code that encourages such things as not playing loud music, not taking glass onto the beach, leaving the area clean and tidy etc. If your beach barbecue involves 10 people or fewer, there are no formal restrictions that you need to consider.
I wish I could go to Guernsey. Of the two museums I preferred the German Occupation Museum as I thought it did a better job of telling the story of the occupation for real people on Guernsey through videos and audio recording.

I am really fascinated with Hauteville House. These posters are warnings to the residents of Guernsey. On our previous visit to Guernsey we had also visited the gardens and sculpture trail at nearby Sausmarez manor and walked further along the cliff path to the German WW2 fortifications at Jerbourg Point.

As the Sark crossing is longer, and can be cancelled in case of rough seas, this is one that I would probably do as an organised cruise excursion to take any pressure off you in case things go wrong.
